Committed to Local Issues

With balanced experience in business, government, and the arts, Bill was elected as Trustee in 2021 and has taken an active role in Village government while learning on the job.

Bill is a Director at Mastercard since 2007, working on business pitches and solutions to promote small businesses and local commerce. He is the former Chair of the Town of Cornwall Economic Development Advisory Committee and one of the architects of the Main Street revitalization plan, Cornwall Rising. You might also know him as the co-host of the Cornwall New Year’s Eve ball drop, from his Running column in the Times Herald-Record, as the author of the rural suspense novel Bone Hollow, or through volunteer stints at the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, Habitat for Humanity Newburgh, Riverkeeper, the Cornwall July 4 Committee, or the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. He is also a founding member of the Cornwall Community Co-Op, which gave rise to the Farmer’s Market, and of the social media group Cornwall Common Sense, dedicated to sensible and tax-friendly land use practices for Cornwall’s undeveloped areas.

Bill moved to Cornwall with his family in 2006 from Monroe. His wife Claudia, born in Cornwall Hospital, is Director of the Haverstraw King's Daughters Public Library. Their two children are a proud graduate and current student in Cornwall schools.
